Molte le novità a partire dal progetto Crema Città Europea dello Sport 2016, di cui questo Torneo fa parte e ne rappresenta uno dei quattro eventi Internazionali.

Inoltre, quest'anno gli organizzatori hanno voluto proporre la formula del doppio torneo:

- Open B – ELO < 2000
Il rimborso spese complessivo è di 2400 EUR e sono previsti premi in natura a sorteggio al termine della premiazione per chi non ha ricevuto alcun rimborso spese.
