39° Campionato Italiano Seniores. Due i tornei al via. Il primo riservato ai giocatori over 65 mentre il secondo, per i più giovani, è per gli over 50. Diversi i titolati in gara. Per l'over 65 ci sono 3 Maestri FIDE, 4 Maestri, 8 Candidati Maestri, 10 giocatori di categoria Nazionale e 4 NC.
Nell'over 50, invece, ci sono 2 Maestri Internazionali, 3 Maestri FIDE, 2 Maestri, 5 Candidato Maestro, 14 giocatori di categoria Nazionale e 1 NC. Una sola rappresentante del gentil sesso tra gli over 65.
